How to care for your Schönhaus dishwasher

Beautifully at home – here’s how to get the most from your Schönhaus dishwasher.

1. Scrape, don’t rinse, plates before loading your dishwasher

There’s no need to rinse. Simply scrape leftover food off plates, bowls and pans. Your Schönhaus dishwasher will take care of the rest, saving you water, energy and time.

2. Don’t overload your dishwasher

With space inside for 15 place settings, this shouldn’t be a problem with your Schönhaus dishwasher.

But it’s useful to know that a too-full dishwasher won’t get dishes clean. This is because the water and detergent can’t move freely around.

3. Make full use of your dishwasher’s grid, flexible upper basket and racks

Your dishwasher has these for a reason – when correctly filled, their position ensures the rotating arm and washer jets can spin freely as they clean. Loading everything in the right place also helps your dishwasher rinse and dry at its best.

• Plates and bowls – place between (not over) the tines on the lower rack and angle everything towards the middle of the machine.

• Cups and glasses – place face down on the top rack. Always check that smarter glassware, such as wine glasses, is dishwasher safe.

• Cutlery – use the slidable cutlery rack at the top, slotting each item securely into position for better cleaning. Arrange cutlery in groups (forks with forks, spoons with spoons) to streamline unloading.

• Larger items, including pans – place on the bottom rack where the water pressure and heat are highest, angling everything to the middle (as before).

4. Choose the right dishwasher cycle for the load

The Schönhaus dishwasher is designed with six expertly engineered cycles – including Eco, Glass and Fast options – as well as an efficient Half Load function.

Using the right cycle for each type and size of load will ensure you always have the sparkling clean plates, bowls, cups and glasses you need.
